KOCHI: The relatives of the two migrant workers who were killed in a building collapse at Ernakulam boat jetty earlier this month would receive the compensation within a week. District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish and the Sub-Collector of the district in Orissa from where the deceased hailed held talks on the issue. The details sought by the latter was duly sent following which it was informed that the relatives of the deceased would be identified and one among them would be authorised to receive the compensation. The company, which had employed the victims, had agreed to pay Rs.3 lakh for the deceased and Rs.3.5 lakh to another migrant worker whose leg was amputated following a serious injury sustained in the accident.
