Attack a house when India-Pak match was on In another case, gain entry through balcony NEW DELHI: Robbers struck at two colonies in Krishna Nagar here on Monday and made off with jewellery and several thousand rupees in cash. Four young men armed with knives and country-made pistols stormed into the house of businessman Anil Jain in West Azad Nagar on Monday evening when he and his mother-in-law Rameshwari Jain were watching the final of the Twenty20 cricket match between India and Pakistan. When Mr. Jain, who was recuperating from bypass surgery, tried to resist the bid, the robbers beat him up and tied him up with a rope. They then allegedly decamped with Rs. 90,000 in cash and jewellery, the police said. Mr. Jain’s wife Nisha was away at work at the time. On returning home, she admitted Mr. Jain to Apollo Hospital and later called up the Police Control Room. The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the robbers. In another incident, four armed men struck at a house in Shastri Park and decamped with Rs. 35,000 in cash and gold jewellery at gun-point. The robbers gained entry to the house through the balcony and locked Pankaj Goel, his wife Annu Goel and four other members of the family in a room. They then ransacked the house for an hour and made off with the cash and valuables. Mr. Goel runs a handloom shop on the ground floor of his two-storey house.
