DCC celebrates Twenty20 win

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cricketer S. Sreesanth played a critical role in India’s victory at the finals of the first Twenty20 world championships in South Africa, the former secretary of the Board of Cricket Control, India, S.K. Nair has said.

He was inaugurating the distribution of sweets at the Sree Chithra Poor Home organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) to celebrate India’s victory over Pakistan on Monday evening.

The Indian team which has a youthful face would no doubt perform extremely well in the series with Australia and in the upcoming series with Pakistan, he said.

West Block president Sreevarahom Suresh presided over the meeting.

District president of the Youth Congress Manacaud Suresh and officials of the poor home were among those present on the occasion, a press release issued here said.
