New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced a 28-year-old-man to four years rigorous imprisonment for injuring and obstructing a constable from discharging his duties, two years ago.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Deepa Sharma convicted Amarjeet Kumar Yadav, a resident of Jana in Uttar Pradesh, after finding him guilty of injuring and obstructing police constable Amar Singh, posted at New Delhi Railway station and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000, apart from imprisonment. According to the prosecution, on June 26, 2005 Yadav had obstructed constable Amar Singh in order to escape from his custody and prevented him from discharging his duties as a public servant.
