Cash awards for Delhi cricketers

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday announced that her Government would give cash awards of Rs.5 lakh each to the two members of the Twenty20 World Cup champion team hailing from Delhi.

Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag will be honoured for the laurels they have brought to the country.

“All Delhiites are proud of these two players,” said Ms. Dikshit on Tuesday. “They played exceptionally well and helped in clinching the championship in South Africa. It is time for all to rejoice the performance of the Men in Blue.”
