MAHABUBNAGAR: Gastroenteritis, which is rampant in Tankara, Konagattupally and other surrounding villages in Hanwada mandal, claimed a life and some 30 persons were hospitalised.
According to reports reaching the district headquarters, Eppali Sugunamma(48) died on Monday night at Konagattupally village while 20 others were shifted to district headquarters hospital. In Tankara village, the authorities organised a medical camp on Tuesday where some 25 persons were affected by gastroenteritis.
Local MLA C. Lama Reddy, who rushed to the villages, inspected the sources of drinking water and sanitation condition in the villages and asked the officials to take necessary steps.
