Award for best feature article on human development

CHENNAI: The State Planning Commission is instituting an award for the best feature article published in registered newspapers (excluding magazines) on human development.
Schemes for improvement of education, health and nutrition, poverty alleviation, employment generation and gender empowerment were some of the topics on which the articles should be written, said an official release.
Articles written during October 2006 — September 2007 are eligible.
Three prizes for articles in English and an equal number of articles in Tamil would be awarded prizes.
The entries should be sent to the Member Secretary, State Planning Commission, Ezhilagam, Chepauk, Chennai - 600005, in a sealed cover superscripting “Articles on HD Issues – English/Tamil” on or before October 31, the release said.
