Rehabilitation work from October 3

Thiruvananthapuram: All works that come under the tsunami rehabilitation scheme will get underway next month. A decision to this effect was taken by the State-level steering committee which met here on Tuesday with Chief Minister, V.S. Achuthanandan in the chair. The work will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister in Kollam on October 3.
It resolved to use the entire funds sanctioned by the Centre for the purpose for improving the standard of life of the fish workers’ families and the poor in the coastal areas and for the development and conservation of the places. It gave clearance for the special package for the development of places such as Alappad, Arattupuzha, Andhakaranazhi and Edavanakad.
