VISAKHAPATNAM: A healthy combination of politics, administration and management and making judicious use of resources will result in good urban governance, Director of Centre for Policy Studies and former Rector of Andhra University, A. Prasanna Kumar, has said.
Delivering the key note address at the inaugural of three-day training for corporators here on Tuesday, he said urban good governance had assumed importance in view of the shift in demographic distribution: 30 per cent of people lived in urban areas and a 30 per cent of them in slums.
The programme “Capacity building for corporators in good urban governance” is being conducted by Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh Centre for Women’s Studies of Andhra University and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.
