Unification move

KATHMANDU: Two breakaway factions of the Nepali Congress announced their unification on Tuesday, five years after their split that tiggered political instability.

Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala and president of Nepali Congress (Democratic) Sher Bahadur Deuba sealed the unification deal on Tuesday.

Mr. Koirala will remain the president of the unified party, while Mr. Deuba will be a senior leader in the party, third in the party hierarchy.
