Johannesburg: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi pipped India’s Yuvraj Singh and four others to win the player of the tournament award for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 Cup.

Afridi finished just one point ahead of four others including Yuvraj, who famously hit six sixes in one amazing over against England at Durban, Australia fast bowler Stuart Clark, Sri Lanka all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya and South Africa pacer Morn Morkel.

The player of the tournament was decided by the commentators for the host broadcaster, ESPN STAR Sports. — PTI
