GLORIOUS MOMENT: Students of Seethalakshmi Ramasamy College for Women who emerged overall winners at ’Biofeasta-07’. PERAMBALUR: Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchi won the overall shield at the ‘Biofeasta-07’ inter-collegiate cultural festival conducted by the Bioperal Association of the Department of Chemistry of the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women, Perambalur, recently. A. V. C. College, Mayiladuturai, finished runner up. The day-long festival provided a good platform to the youths to exhibit their talent in various avenues of life sciences. It attracted entries from various colleges in Bharathidasan, Madurai Kamaraj, Periyar Universities. The students enthusiastically participated in the events ‘block and tackle’ (topic: antioxidants); bio quiz (topic: life sciences); bio add (theme: bio-products); poster presentation (theme: recent trends in Biochemistry), mime show (theme: science and technology); group dance, facial art (theme: global warming) and bio expo (theme: innovations in Biosciences). The festival was inaugurated by founder and chairman of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Educational Institutions A. Srinivasan and College Principal R. M. Meenakshi gave away the prizes. The following were the winners in various events: Block and Tackle: 1. R. Deepthi (Rajagiri Dawood Batcha College, Papanasam), 2. Kashif- Ur-Rahman (Srinivasan College of Arts and Science, Perambalur), 3. K. Sangeetha (Srimathi Indira Gandhi College, Tiruchi). Mime Show: 1.Rajagiri Dawood Batcha College, Papanasam (P. Indumathi, E. Anuradha, G. Bindunandhini, D. Sridhar and R. Vinoth Babu), 2. A. V. C. College, Mayiladuturai and 3. Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchi. Bio Quiz: 1. A. Saranya and G. Dhivya (Seethalakshmi Raswami College, Tiruchi), 2. B. Balis Mariyamol Asiya and Bharakthnisha (Rabiammal Ahamed Maiden College for Women, Tiruvarur) and 3. Johara Gouser and R.
