BHUBANESWAR: Leading tyre manufacturer TVS Srichakra on Wednesday launched ‘The Terrific Trio’, three new technology tyres for Orissa market.

Terming the tyre technology as revolutionary, executive Vice-President (Operation and Marketing) of TVS Tyres, S. Balasubramanian said, “the tyres are India’s first puncture resistant tubeless tyres for two wheelers.” “These tyres are especially designed for Indian roads where frequent punctures are common.

Smooth ride

Two-wheeler owners can forget about the maintenance of the tyres for years except for the usual and regular air checks,” Mr. Balasubramanian said.

He claimed that the TVS puncture resistant tyres with self-sealing technology allowed no loss of air pressure in the event of a puncture, withstanding air pressure with a penetration of puncture material of 3 mm thickness.

The technology involved the use of coating with worldwide patented, PU-based sealant gel on the inner surface of the tread of regular tyre and a unique spreading technology was used to ensure a uniform and balanced coating on the inner surface, the Executive Vice-President of TVS explained.

Moreover, the tyres would provide driver with an increased control over the vehicle on rough roads, he said. The puncture resistant tyres can be fitted on to all two-wheelers having alloy wheels.

“In addition to this, we have also introduced two new technology tyres Dual Tread Technology tyres and Polyester Technology tyres, the first of its kind in the Indian two-wheeler industry,” Mr. Balasubramanian announced.

The dual tread tyres would help in increasing the life of the tyre and make the tyres highly resistant to abrasion and enhance the high wet and dry grip.
