ANANTAPUR: Member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Palle Raghunatha Reddy was reportedly forced to leave ‘Indiramma Sambaralu’ programme at Nallacheruvu in the district on Wednesday for finding fault with the schemes launched by the Congress government According to information reaching here, Indiramma Sambaralu was organised to hand over houses, house sites and welfare pensions to the beneficiaries of the second phase of Indiramma scheme. Speaking at the meeting Nallamada MLA K. Mohan Reddy of the Congress stated that cutting across party affiliations their government was extending benefits to all the needy. When his turn came to speak, Mr. Raghunatha Reddy reportedly criticised the government schemes and alleged that there were large-scale irregularities in the Indiramma scheme and houses were being sanctioned only to the Congress workers. On Indiramma houses, the TDP MLC said the government was extending only Rs. 7,500 as subsidy component in the unit cost and rest of the amount was being repaid in instalments and as such there was not much to cheer about the scheme. Infuriated by his remarks, a large section of the crowd comprising beneficiaries of the scheme raised slogans against Mr. Raghunatha Reddy and forced him to leave the venue.
