NARRAVADA (NELLORE Dt.): The Bhoo Poratam stir has taken a new turn in Nellore district as hundreds of persons led by CPI State Secretary K. Narayana ‘occupied’ 2,700 acres of land here at Narravada of Duttalur on Wednesday.
The CPI State Secretary, who led the party cadre as well as hundreds of poor people in ploughing the land, threatened to take up sowing and transplantation on the land if the Government failed to distribute it before the onset of the monsoon. Mr. Narayana asked the Government to issue a white paper on the current status of Government land claiming that it could bring out facts with regard to the availability of surplus lands across the State.
