Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: Ayyappan Pillai Ajayaghosh, a scientist with the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIST), Thiruvanantha- puram, has been selected for the prestigious Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Prize for Chemical Sciences for 2007. It consists of a citation and a cash award of Rs.2 lakh. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from S.N. College, Kollam, in 1982. After obtaining his Master’s degree in 1984 and Ph.D. in 1988 from Calicut University, under the supervision of V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, he joined the Regional Research Laboratory here as scientist. — Special Correspondent
