Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghunath Prasad Shankhwar, whose name reportedly figured during probe into purchase of drugs during his tenure as Chief Medical Officer of Barabanki district, has resigned from the Mayawati Government. Mr. Shankhwar, the Minister of State for Land Development and Water Resources with independent charge, had put in his papers on Tuesday night, official sources said. His resignation had been fowarded by the Chief Minister to Governor T. V. Rajeswar for acceptance, they said.
Mr. Shankhwar is the second Minister to quit the Mayawati Ministry. PTI
