TIRUCHI: The Regional Passport Office, Tiruchi, has announced that online registration will be mandatory for filing applications for passports with effect from October 1. The office has recently made online registration mandatory for filing applications under the Tatkal category. Now, the system has been extended to all applications, except for those seeking ECNR and PCC endorsements.

Applicants have to register their applications in the website www.passport.gov.in before submitting the copy of the same to the Passport Office in person.

The applications could be filed between 9.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Regional Passport Officer S.Balachandran said in a Press release.

Facilitation centre

Applicants who do not have access to Internet can avail the services of the Ex-Servicemen Facilitation Centre functioning at the Passport Office campus in Tiruchi.

Manually filled-in applications can be submitted at the District Passport Centres and Speed Post collection centres, he added.
