Take action against Vedanti, says Baalu

CHENNAI: Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Parliamentary Party leader T.R. Baalu has requested Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to take immediate preventive legal action against the former BJP MP, Ram Vilas Vedanti, for his repeated “unlawful, undemocratic and provocative remarks” against Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
In a letter to Mr. Patil, a copy of which was released here on Wednesday, Mr. Baalu said Mr. Vedanti, by reiterating his remarks in a section of the media, created an explosive situation in Tamil Nadu, which was already tense and surcharged with emotions. His remarks were fraught with the danger of developing into a serious law and order problem.
