‘Stick to the basics’

NEW DELHI: She may not be used to teaching the kids, but the196th ranked Sunitha Rao, the second best Indian woman player in the WTA ranking list behind Sania Mirza, made a good job of guiding dozens of kids in her maiden appearance as the brand ambassador of Reebok, in a tennis clinic at the DLTA Complex here on Wednesday evening.

“Keep the basics in mind. Take the racquet back in time and keep your feet moving,” said the 21-year-old Sunitha, quite at ease in handling the microphone on one hand and the racquet on the other. On the sidelines, Sunitha talked about her focus to finish the season strongly around 150 in the rankings, as she has two more months in the circuit in the US.
