Nupur wins a thriller

NEW DELHI: Nupur scored the winning basket in the dying moments to help Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, to a thrilling 26-25 victory over Salwan Public School, after it had trailed 6-12 at halftime in the pre-quarterfinals of the girls’ section in the Inter-school basketball tournament at the Shri Ram College of Commerce courts here. She top-scored for her team with nine points.

The results (pre-quarterfinals):

Under-17 boys: Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar 26 beat Bhavan’s Sawan Public School 9.

Ryan International, Noida, 25 (Yashbir 14) beat Lovely Public School, Priyadarshini Vihar, 22.

Under-17 girls: Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, 26 beat Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, 25.

Government Girls School No.3, Sarojini Nagar 28 beat Vivekanand School, Anand Vihar 10.

Mount Carmel School, Anand Niketan 35 (Amrit 14, Suman 10) beat Ryan International, Mayur Vihar, 13.
