Vatal seeks session on relief work

CHAMARAJANAGAR: President of the Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha and Chamarajanagar MLA Vatal Nagaraj has urged the Chief Minister to convene a session of the legislature Assembly to discuss the loss owing to heavy rain in north Karnataka.

He was speaking after inaugurating a car and motorcycle rally seeking votes in favour of his party candidates contesting the urban local body elections in the district, here on Tuesday.

He criticised the Centre for “neglecting” the State in releasing funds for relief work in the rain-hit areas.

He urged the State Government to give compensation to the affected people at the earliest.
