CHENNAI: The constituents of the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) have called for a bandh in Tamil Nadu on October 1 to protest against the ‘conspiracy of communal elements’ to sabotage the Sethusamudram project, and to convey the sentiments of the people of the State. A resolution adopted at a DPA meeting held at the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) headquarters here said a public meeting would be held in Chennai on September 30 to press for early implementation of the project. The bandh and the meeting would create awareness on various aspects of the project, DPA leaders said.
