Bombs found near Andheri station, 2 held
MUMBAI: The police found six low-intensity crude bombs near the Andheri railway station here on Wednesday.
Two persons were arrested in connection with this.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said the bombs were made of low-intensity explosives such as gunpowder in which nails, ball bearings and nut-bolts were used to act as shrapnel. Those arrested were identified as Rajeev Jaigovind Singh (22) and Soumitra Badal Roy (36).
The police found Singh carrying the bombs in a backpack while Roy was arrested on Wednesday.
The recovery of the bombs was made hours ahead of the return of the Indian team from South Africa after winning the Twenty20 cricket World Cup. — PTI
