Homage to Jana Krishnamurthy

CHENNAI: A host of BJP leaders paid homage to the former party president, K. Jana Krishnamurthy, at his funeral here on Wednesday.

National president Rajnath Singh, senior leader M. Venkaiah Naidu, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, general secretary Ananth Kumar, president of the Andhra Pradesh unit Bandaru Dattatreya, chief of the Tamil Nadu unit L. Ganesan, and national secretary S. Thirunavukkarasar were among those who attended the funeral at the Besant Nagar crematorium.

Mr. Ganesan read out a message from Vajpayee.

Mr. Modi said Mr. Krishnamurthy showed a keen interest in the development of the State. A representative of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee visited the house to pay homage.
