Vijay Shankar hits 116

CHENNAI: Vijay Shankar scored 116 (228b, 13x4, 3x6) as Combined Districts ended day one of the three-day under-17 cricket match against City for the N.R. Samiappa Mudaliar Trophy on 209 for eight.

Vijay Shankar put on 114 for the third wicket with N.S. Chaturved (44) after Districts won the toss. Off-spinner A.K. Balachander took four wickets for City.

The scores: Combined Districts 209 for eight in 90 overs (Vijay Shankar 116, N.S. Chaturved 44, Amit Singh 32 batting, A.K. Balachander four for 53) v City.
