Laughter all the way: Theatre person Chindodi Leela with fellow artistes after a press conference in Bangalore on Thursday. Bangalore: Popular theatre artiste Chindodi Leela’s KBR Drama Company, which had earlier set Bangaloreans rolling in the aisles with its comedy Polisana Magalu, is back in the city with a new play Yeshtu Nagthi Nagu. Starting Friday, the Davangere-based drama company will stage Yeshtu Nagthi Nagu, a social comedy by B. Shivashankar of Gadag at the Gubbi Veeranna Ranga Mandira in Gandhinagar here. Ms. Leela told presspersons here on Thursday that veteran theatre personality Yenagi Balappa, popular heroine of yester year B. Saroja Devi, Kannada Development Authority chairman Siddalingaiah, Karnataka Janapada Parishat president G. Narayan, Karnataka Nataka Academy chairman Sreenivas G. Kappanna and Sharana Sahitya Parishat president Go. Ru. Channabasappa would be present during the inaugural show at 2.30 p.m. on Friday. The play has three central characters — an absent-minded professor and his two brothers, one hearing impaired and the other sight-impaired. The comedy was mainly brought out through their actions and dialogues, said Chindodi Shambulingappa, manager of the KBR Drama Company. M.K. Sathyanarayana, Vijay Kumar and Kishore Kumar are cast in the lead roles in the situation comedy.
