Walkathon on Sunday

Manipal: The Kasturba Hospital is organising a national-level “World Heart Day Walkathon Manipal-2007: Red Alert,” as part of the World Heart Day, on Sunday.
In a press release here on Thursday, B.H. Ananda Rao, officiating medical superintendent of the hospital, said Olympian Ashwini Nachappa would lead the walkathon. It would begin from M.G.M. College in Udupi at 8.40 a.m. and culminate at the Kasturba Hospital in Manipal at 9.30 a.m. The theme of the walkathon would be “Team up for healthy hearts”. The aim was to focus on the alarming rate at which cardiac diseases were increasing, the release said.
