The auctions, conducted by the Prevention of Unauthorised Construction Cell, pertained to 49 acres of land in Hesaraghatta hobli in Bangalore North (Additional) taluk and Kengeri hobli in Bangalore South taluk.

Of 49 acres of land, 27 acres of land received response from the bidders that fetched the State Government Rs. 4.76 crore.

An official told The Hindu that 49 acres in six survey numbers had been divided into 23 blocks for the purpose of auction, and only three blocks received bids that were above the guidance value fixed by the Government for the area.
