Total disbursal of Rs. 988.89 crore Target overhauled by 29.89 per cent KANNUR: Banks in the district surpassed their credit disbursement target for the first quarter ended June 30, with a total disbursal of Rs. 988.89 crore. This was disclosed at the District Level Committee meeting held here on Wednesday to review the performance of banks in disbursing credit in the district. The banks here released credit to the tune of Rs. 988.89 crore against a target of Rs. 761.29 crore; an increase of 29.89 per cent. Sector-wiseIn the priority sector, the credit disbursal was Rs. 500.25 crore against a target of Rs. 489.06 crore; 2.24 per cent above the target. In the agriculture sector, Rs. 146.11 crore was disbursed. The amount is 6.56 per cent below the target. In the industry sector, the amount disbursed is 57.88 per cent above the quarterly target, the meeting was told. In other priority sectors, the achievement was Rs. 321.15 crore; 3 per cent above the target. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Collector M. Vijayalakshmi. Syndicate Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) K. P. Muralidharan delivered the keynote address. Reserve Bank of India AGM N. R. Pillai and Nabard AGM P. A. Premkumar reviewed the performance of the banks. Lead District Manager U. P. Narayanan was also present.
