Undertake political reforms: Pranab

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has urged the Myanmar government to undertake political reforms and expedite the process of national reconciliation of sections that have been left out of the ruling structure.

In a statement, he said: “We are concerned at the situation in Myanmar and are monitoring it closely. It is our hope that all sides will resolve their issues peacefully through dialogue.” India hoped to see a peaceful, stable and prosperous Myanmar, where all sections of people would be included in a broad-based process of national reconciliation and political reform, he said.
