INDORE: A court here on Thursday issued bailable warrants against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and car showroom owners Ashok Rajpal and Rakesh Rajpal for allegedly showing disrespect to the national flag here on August 16.
Eleven national flags were hoisted atop the showroom of a leading car maker at a function where Mr. Khan was the chief guest. When journalists drew the attention of the showroom owners to the Tricolour remaining hoisted even after sunset, the flags were pulled down in a “derogatory manner” and they allegedly lay on the floor in violation of the National Flag Code. A complaint was filed by an advocate following which the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class issued warrants against them. The court directed them to appear on October 12.
The complaint was filed under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act of 1971 and relevant section of IPC. -- PTI
