BJP flays property tax hike move

HYDERABAD: While strongly opposing its move to hike property tax on commercial properties, the city unit of the BJP has charged the GHMC of being “negligent” and “irresponsible” in improving civic amenities. “How can it be increased when Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had promised not to do so when the corporation was formed? We will not keep quiet and will not allow it to be implemented,” said city president Prem Singh Rathore and Himayatnagar MLA G. Kishan Reddy.
