IAF officer killed in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 44-year-old Indian Air Force (IAF) officer was killed in a ‘hit-and-run’ accident involving an unidentified vehicle near Shanghumugham early on Thursday. The police identified the deceased as Reghunathan of Kallada House, Irangalakuda, Thrissur. He was residing at the IAF staff quarters here. The Valiathura police said that local citizens had alerted them of a “body lying on the roadside” around 6 a.m. The police suspect the accident to have occurred after 5.30 a.m. The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem examination. Reghunathan’s wife, Srirekha, survives him.
