NALGONDA: Four personnel of the Fire Department sustained serious injuries while trying to douse the flames at a chemical factory at Kondamadugu in Bibinagar mandal on Thursday night. The Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar told The Hindu that the personnel, who were engaged in extinguishing flames at Chandak Laboratories, sustained burns following the blast of a cylinder. They were rushed to a private hospital at Narketpally. Earlier all the 44 workers on duty in the factory ran out of the workplace when a major fire broke out. The local Sub Inspector P. Madhusudan Reddy, told that a worker, Prakash, sustained injuries in the stampede the followed the fire accident.
Fire tenders were summoned from Bhongir.
