Numeric, French firm form JV

CHENNAI: Socomec-Numeric UPS Pvt. Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture company between the France-based Socomec SA and the Chennai-based Numeric Power System Ltd., to manufacture, market and service UPS in India, is all set to expand the three-phase UPS market in India.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Michael Carter, CEO, Socomec, said the company planned to launch ‘Fly Wheel’ technology-based UPS, which would replace the battery requirement.

R. Chellappan, Chairman, Numeric Power, said the agreement would enable his company to dominate the single-phase market in India. Norbert Jacobsen, Managing Director, Socomec-Newmeric, said the company used the Numeric’s infrastructure and platform to market and penetrate into the Indian market.
