Nayudu award for Contractor

Mumbai: Nari Contractor, 73, has been awarded the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award. He will be presented Rs. 15 lakhs and a citation at a function to be held in November.

The BCCI’s special committee comprising President Sharad Pawar, Inderjit Singh Bindra, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, Prabhash Joshi and Niranjan Shah chose Contractor, who played 31 Tests for India from 1955 to 1962.

The prize money has been increased from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 15 lakhs.
