Adopt Bhagat Singh as role model, youth urged

Staff Reporter

MADURAI: Youth should be driven by goals taking a cue from the life of Bhagat Singh, who continues to inspire people wanting to serve the country, Collector S.S. Jawahar said here on Friday.

At a function to mark the revolutionary’s birth anniversary at M.S.S. Wakf Board College, he said the martyr should be taken as a role model. Today’s youth should channelise their energy and knowledge in the right direction for the development of the country.

They should shun “unwanted thoughts and actions” such as terrorism and involve themselves in constructive activities.

Students should read beyond academic syllabus. “Anything that is done with involvement will make ordinary life into an extraordinary one,” he said.

The Collector urged students to develop good relations with neighbours and relatives.
