CHIKMAGALUR: C.T. Ravi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, has not ruled out the possibility of mid-term elections in the State. Mr. Ravi told presspersons here on Thursday that several Janata Dal (S) legislators had confided in him that the chances of power transfer were remote and had expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of their leaders in this regard. Regretting that cheating was an essential part of politics, he said his party was prepared to face the elections. Mr. Ravi criticised the Congress, the Janata Dal (S) and the Communist Party of India for indulging in malpractice in the municipal elections in Chikmagalur. district Expressing confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the municipal elections, he said a large section of the minorities and Stree Shakti self-help groups had extended their support to the BJP candidates. M.S. Bhoje Gowda, BJP district unit president, and C.H. Lokesh, Chikmagalur Urban Development Authority chairman, were present.
