Stringent action threatened

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has directed stringent action against those selling plastic carry bags of less than 30 microns in thickness, labelling them as of 31 microns, Minister for Local Self Government Paloli Mohamedkutty said here Friday. The Minister said that most of the traders were complying with the ban. However, some people were trying to circumvent the ban. He urged that voluntary efforts to clear public places and institutions of plastics should be continued until Saturday. — Special Correspondent
