Special train services till January

Thiruvananthapuram: The Railways have extended the operations of the 0671/0672 Hubli-Kochuveli-Hubli Weekly Special and the 02678/02677 Ernakulam-Coimbatore-Ernakulam Weekly Special to clear the heavy rush of commuters from October to January.

Train no. 0671 will depart every Tuesday from Hubli to reach Kochuveli the next day at 4.30 p.m. In the return direction, the 0672 will depart from Kochuveli every Thursday at 45 minutes past noon to reach Hubli the next day at 1.50 p.m.

The service of the special train from Hubli will be on October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; November 6, 13, 20, 27; December 4, 11, 18 and 25; and January 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The service from Kochuveli will be on October 4, 11, 18 and 25; November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29; December 6, 13, 20 and 27; and January 3, 19, 17, 24 and 31.

The 0671 and 0672 trains will have one AC two-tier, six sleeper class, four general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches, the Railways said.

Both the special trains will halt at Varkala, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Hosur, Banswadi, Yeshavanthpur, Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere, Birur, Devangere, Harihar, Ranibennur and Haveri railway stations.

The services of the 02678/02677 Ernakulam-Coimbatore-Ernakulam summer special have also been extended for another three months. The last service from Ernakulam Junction will be on January 4 and from Coimbatore on January 5.
