Maid takes refuge at embassy

Dubai: An Indian housemaid in Qatar has taken refuge at the Indian embassy after alleged physical and mental harassment by her sponsor. Talking to presspersons on Thursday, the maid alleged that she was subjected to physical and mental harassment by the sponsor, Peninsula reported. The maid from Wayanad had come to Qatar five years ago. The embassy had sent her for medical check-up from where she was handed over to the police. — PTI
