Yediyurappa abstains
Bangalore: Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, who was to be the chief guest at the Basava Award presentation was conspicuous by his absence on Friday, further emphasising the divide between the coalition partners. He was apparently away in Mysore.
Minister for Kannada and Culture Mahadev Prasad and Home Minister M.P. Prakash, who were present on stage were from the JD(S). References to Bhagyalakshmi Scheme, regarded as Mr. Yediyurappa’s pet scheme, found a mention in the Chief Minister’s prepared speech, but it was dropped while being read out.
