‘Remo’ has changed the course of Mahanty’s life He was adjudged as the best director KORAPUT: "Remo", the play on tribal way of life, has changed the course of life of Jogendra Mahanty , its director. Long before the play could win four prizes in the National Level Drama Festival at Agra , it had begun to cast its effect on bringing back the stage director of the region from a long exile . Jogendra, popularly known as Munu among the art lovers of Koraput, had directed more than 30 stage plays before getting hospitalized with a near-paralyzing condition . The struggle for the next five years was too hard , he said . The call given by friends from Koraput Cultural Society to be the director of their latest play Remo , had given him real boost , Krushna Chandra Nishanko , District Culture officer of Koraput said. Jogendra was not finding himself in his fullest capabilities to speak . He was stammering . But his friends had faith in him. He could change the fate of the play and also himself, he added. The director had taken a rebirth . With each word he had to utter to check the wrong progress of the play he spoke . He cried and shouted making large noise in the rehearsal to bring unending smiles in all the artists who were back with record breaking prizes. He was adjudged best director of the festival.
