One lynched in Gopalganj

Second incident of its kind in the district

PATNA: In the second incident of its kind in Gopalganj district, in less than four days, a nomadic tribesman, accused of theft, was beaten to death in Sukulwakhurd village under the town police station on Thursday night.

Woken up in sleep

It was claimed that Chote Lal Baitha woke up after some thieves entered his house.

When he raised an alarm, villagers chased three alleged thieves but managed to nab only Kishore Nat.

He died in the thrashing that followed. Kishore Nat belonged to Uchkagaon under the Dahibhadha police station.

FIR filed

The police have sent his body for autopsy.

An FIR has been filed against unknown people of the village charging them with murder.

On Monday night Bikrama Ram was killed in Lokhara village under Majhagarh police station.

In Vaishali district, 10 persons belonging to the same community were targeted and lynched about a fortnight ago.
