NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old Rajasthan Armed Constabulary jawan allegedly shot himself outside the Canadian Embassy here in the early hours of Friday.
According to the police, the incident took place around 1-30 a.m. when Constable Mahendra Singh shot himself with his service self-loading rifle. He died on the spot. Though the police have not found any suicide note, it is learnt that Mahendra was being treated for depression.
Mahendra, a resident of Rajasthan, had joined the RAC about four years ago.
The police have initiated inquest proceedings.
