BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association has demanded parity with Central Government employees in terms of allowances and other benefits now that Bangalore has been granted A-1 status. Association president L. Bhyrappa told presspersons here on Friday that they were entitled to House Rent Allowance at 30 per cent, apart from being allowed to enjoy benefits such as holidays on par with the allowances given to Central Government employees. Many of these demands had already been made by them over several years, and the State Fifth Pay Commission had also accommodated these demands, he pointed out. ReportA report submitted by them six months ago had raised all these issues, but despite assurances, the Government had not given an indication of acting on them. There was tardiness in implementing the Human Resource Management System that is to be implemented in all departments under e-governance programme. The staff were not trained, and the details of all employees were not collected from individual employees, he said.
