‘Safety steps at stations yet to be taken’
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Recommendations by the Railway police to increase security at railway stations in the city have not been implemented, K.H. Sreenivasan, Superintendent of Police, Railways, has said. Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said the Railway police had recommended that a compound wall be built around the stations, watch towers be erected and access control measures initiated.
While these remain to be implemented, the Railway police, with help from the city police, had been checking important trains for any explosive devices, he said.
