Sonia to inaugurate railway projects

CHANDIGARH: United Progressive Alliance chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi would be the chief guest at various functions of the Indian Railways at Rewari on October 7, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here on Friday.

Mr. Hooda said he had received intimation from Railway Minister Lalu Prasad that five prestigious projects of the Indian Railways would be launched from Rewari.

Ms. Gandhi would dedicate to the nation the newly converted broad gauge rail line between Rewari and Delhi Sarai Rohilla; lay the foundation stones for a new broad gauge rail line between Rewari and Rohtak and electrification of rail line between Rohtak and Shakurbasti and flag off two new trains.
