PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) on Friday urged the Government to appoint a fact-finding team to go into the death of a construction worker “due to negligence on the part of a doctor at the General Hospital.” CPI national council member R. Viswanathan and Puducherry unit secretary of the party N. Kalainathan told reporters here that the government should not “shirk its responsibility” in ascertaining fact. The deceased, A. Selvadurai, had been admitted to the hospital seeking treatment for a renal ailment.
